Dear Stanford Alum, Faculty or Staff member,

In early May, you will receive an important survey from Stanford University. Please take a few minutes to reply.

We know that our alumni, faculty and staff have made a significant impact on their communities at the local, regional, national and international levels. But we have never been able to fully measure the extent of that impact. The goal of this survey is to obtain quantifiable data to measure the broad impact of Stanford via alumni, faculty and staff. This is an academic study, and your participation will contribute to important research.

The survey will focus on innovative endeavors in a variety of professional sectors. The resulting data will allow us to tell the story of the numerous and impressive ways that alumni have contributed to society.

For the best possible research results, we hope to obtain participation from each and every survey recipient. Please keep your email address up to date (alumni: see link on sidebar for how to do that) and make the time to respond thoughtfully when you receive the survey in your email or mail. To thank you for your participation, respondents will be entered for a chance to win an iPad, iPod Touch or other prizes. Sharing the survey link with your Stanford friends earns you 10 extra entries to win when your friends respond (they earn extra entries also). Respondents will also receive a copy of the results and may also win an invitation to a special VIP event to announce the results of the survey.

Your participation will contribute to important research on the careers of university alumni, faculty and staff, and help shape the results. Please help us ensure that your region and profession is well represented. Please know that each questionnaire is confidential and that reports will be of an aggregate statistical nature only.

We look forward to hearing about your endeavors, vision, success and learnings in your career! Thank you in advance for your participation and for your ongoing interest in the university.

Sincerely,

Charles Eesley
